eeeehhh.. no sign off the bearing retaining ring.. i think i can safely say it was not mounted, and the pinion shaft crank bearing came out.. dhammm

striping the bike further to take the engine out to inspect the crank

clutch cable of and i need to get the bike over to a other lift

pushrod cover loose

and protecting the lifter bores from debris falling in

cylinder pulled off and taken the piston out

removeing the 2 left rear studs.. as we no longer trust these ( the right studs have failed to many time s on this bike, still wondering what the history is and what has been done to this bike for the studs to fail like this

studs out .. and taping of to dril the big serts repair

needed to trun down the dril bit so i could use a small drill , no room for the big one

but it works

chamfering tool also reduced the diameter off the shaft so i can clamp it in a 3/8 chuck

tapping in the hold it staight tool helper . keeping you eye on the rear studs also helps.. if the threads are of a little to much you will get issues mounting

1 in feeling goos

and forming / locking the insert in place

and 2 down and locked... next week stacking things up again.. and test riding longer rides to get the bike totaly warm to inspect if the sweating base gaskets are over
