we inspected the front leaking one , the rear gasket has been replaced al ready.. as the rear will leak first.. to check if you still have the old paper seals.. look from below to the bottum of the rocker box.. if you see gasket from left to right ( the rusty part here ) you have new model gaskets — at Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

fuel tank of

horn and coil of to make room, horn has been rubbing into the plug cables .. will replace these

coil of , works better

and losening the cover box cover bolts

2e layer the , rocker box spacer

comes of easy , the breather oneway valve is housed in this part

the rocker box allen bolt can be a pain to get to

napkin as it will drip some oil here

and losening the rocker box, releasing the valve spring tension slowly , keep the rocker box evenly

the old ( stock ) 2 piece rocker box gasket

these al fail over time

this was the hardest leak.. but was starting on several points

clean and use a 1 piece gasket / OEM or as in this case the Cometic one

rocker box cleaned and back on

tq the bolts .

giving the spacer ring a little edge here

as mounting this can be a pain, engine mount and allen bolt are making it hard..

cover on

bike swaped around on the lift

as the fork seals are leaking

loosen the pich bolts... WP fork.. metric !!

fender of and other side pich bolts loose and removed the axle

head ligt bracket loose

on this bike is a set WP forks used... 1 is rebound only the other compression only

checking th setting

protecting the cap nut from tool scars

little cleaning before i take it apart

top caps pops of eay

and the 2 spring holds come off to, as you see a upgrade progressive spring is used , so there is some tension on

these Wp forks, have the seal clips and a support ring on the outside, can be a pain to get theme out

outer tube removed

parts routing

low temp thin grease in the new seal for mounting

put some electro tape over the sharp edges to protect the seal during mounting

al back on. the guide bushings where ok

and lock rings back in the slot

bleeding the damper and set the level oil .. sping in and push it down to mount the retainers

one fork back in and the other one out

the compression side

same story.. first a clean

careful with these parts.. the become rare ( the red holder for instance )

needed a new seal support ring.. damagde during disassembly

fork back in

axle in , drop of loctite on the threads

and tq down the front axle nut

bought brake calipers on

and front fender back on.. do not tighten to hard , the rubber spacers will be crushed to much and the fender douse not line up

next... exhaust stud broke.. and service inspection

mnnn.. think i replace this for K&N ..

prepping for engine rotation... airbox of and top tie rod loose

loosen also the wire harnes guide , gives the wires more room

the missing one .. header need to come of

chin spoiler was removed, down side the chin spoiler bracket was loose , and this loosened the oil pump cover screw..

as the old bracket was broken the customer made a new bracket .

belt tensioner of so i can get to the exhaust mount

as the rear mount is rather fidely i like to take the termignoni of with the bracket mounted.. so only the 2 mounting bolts need to be losened

the heavy duty new clamp is a little to heavy duty, as it has pinched the slip on.. to the header , mounting this solid.. lucky the mufler body could be removed

steering damper of

need to make a work around for the seased header pipe , to support the engine

header of.. port gasket out

and dril jig mounted

using cobalt drils makes life allot easier.. learned it the hard way pushing HSS bits for 2 hours ... ;-)

with cobalt bits.. drils easy..

retapping the hole

ready to go

little loctite on the new stud

customer had grind down the flange to get a nut on , i will replace this one

header back on

and service job right away with the engine still rotated... plugs are easy now

the cables where not "clicking" means the booth is pulled way to far down.. with a needle nose plier you can grab it and pul the connector up
