XR1200 making it better, off again to the Uk
XR1200 making it better, was nice meeting you Neal
X1 trouble shooting, she is running like a hit and miss engine at idle.
X1 trouble shooting, and there was a little problem with a smoking relais :-X
X1 trouble shooting, good thing it was noticed before the oil splatters ( relay is located on the oil tank ) got hot enough to self ignite
X1 trouble shooting, i think the little crappy side indicators are to blame, really high resitance if i wiggle the fitting
X1 trouble shooting, yeah, you get what you pay for
X1 trouble shooting, been so hot the solder off the light bulb is melted
X1 trouble shooting, to be sure and check the rest off the wiring... relais out , purple wire on the relais socket on one lead and handle bar switch to one side the feed to the rear indicator gives a total resistance on the circuit and switch is good bought ways , and open circuit when switched off , ok that is good
X1 trouble shooting, with some new light bulbs and solid made solder connections on the bulb fittings , perfect i can wiggle all i want but the resistance stays at the same level
X1 trouble shooting, so new relais in and on with the next problem
X1 trouble shooting, running bad... and i hear the header blowing out , at least 1 header but is loose , but after tightening it is still leaking. ok will take the header off
X1 trouble shooting, as the gearbox oil also needs a change.. the exhaust needs to be removed anyway
X1 trouble shooting, so exhaust off, and drain the gearbox oil
X1 trouble shooting, opening up the primairy to fill it back up
X1 trouble shooting, the header will have more room to come off if you take the sprocket cover off
X1 trouble shooting, rest off the header nuts off
X1 trouble shooting, yeaah lucky this time , no broken studs , only unscrewed one
X1 trouble shooting. mnnn missing something
X1 trouble shooting, aaah the c-clip ring fell off , but is worn out and did not hold the header on anymore
X1 trouble shooting, as i can pull the flange off with no trouble
X1 trouble shooting, the gasket was not bad... but will replace these for new ones so the header can set again
X1 trouble shooting,, ok hold on.. header is also cracked.. mnn can weld this , is the back side. New header can be found here: https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp?guid=YXHFSC&aid=10600&cid=10614&s&a&aname=Buell_X1_OEM_header_with_2_inch_collector
X1 trouble shooting.. bugger the cracks run almost around. HEader can be found here: https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp?guid=YXHFSC&aid=10600&cid=10614&s&a&aname=Buell_X1_OEM_header_with_2_inch_collector
X1 trouble shooting, the pipe is also cracked between the pipes running inward , would need to be magician to weld these nice again, will discuss this with the customer, i think a new header will be a better option. Header cvan be found here: https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp?guid=YXHFSC&aid=10600&cid=10614&s&a&aname=Buell_X1_OEM_header_with_2_inch_collector
X1 engine rebuild last things , after some dyno time the engine is getting loose, time to finish the rest
X1 engine rebuild last things , as this bike came in a box... always a surprice what you get... missing the plastic spacer for the oem airbox horn
X1 engine rebuild last things , lucky we has some old airboxes where is could take some parts from
X1 engine rebuild last things , i really don't like the original breadbox airfilter housing... it helps if you put in new wellnuts wink-emoticon
X1 engine rebuild last things , 1 screw in and the ohter 2 on the outside with a bracket
X1 engine rebuild last things , ok it is on.. but still i don't like it , seal ring fixed
X1 engine rebuild last things , with the outer on it looks better
X1 engine rebuild last things , it is a nice bike , ready to go home again
X1 engine rebuild last things , X1 day smile-emoticon
