7-2-2018 XB12S service, X1 suspension problems

29-4-2018 - What did we do today: 7-2-2018 Buell XB12S service, Buell X1 suspension oil problems.

Buell Xb12S sleeping with us for the winter, i will give here a little check up.. as the days are getting longer.

neutral light douse not work

you can override this pulling the clutch to start 

removing the covers for inspection

rear caliper off to get the wheel out.. bolts turning difficult, the alumium in the holes is a littl crushed

ream with a dril bit, and the bolt have enough room, use the bolts with never seas

ols style sidestand pin.. feeling loose

rear wheel check .. loose it

and removing the oil filter 

side stand pivot loose 

mnnn.. ok was repaired, no problem, but i could loosen the bolt easy,. back in with loctite 

wheel bearings are perect 

belt wil need to be watched.. some wear noticeble , noting realy cracked.. but need to keep a eye on this

belt removed from the front pulley.. checking the neutral sensor.. mnnn no worky at all

new oil filter on 

and new neutral sensor on 

that is better

neutral light working.. and bike will start with out having to pull the clutch lever 

rear wheel back in 

and belt guard on. use neverseas on these screws into the swingarm , tiny allen heads. the slip very fast if the screws seaz 

oil in the swingarm 

and moving to the front. fender off

the right side is missing the nylon washers... hence the fender is loose and ratteling on the right side 

brake pads are wearing thin.. will replace these as they will not reach the next service

small rust spot on the outer leg.. little cleaning and protecting with some grease 

wheel bearings are ok

new brake pads in 

the front caliper mounting bolts do also jam in the fork

front axle to tq 

before we tighen the pinch bolts.. we need to set the forks by pushing down the front end a few times

new pads.. pump to pressure so you do not grab nothing when you try to brake the first time

nylon washers to mount the fender good

loctite on the chin spoiler bolts

changing the brake fluid 

and making the lever nice, with some fresh grease on the sliding parts

letting here warm up

and checking oil level

Very nice X1 from Germany with some suspention troubles

nice bike low km's

front fork feels rock solid , leaking right side 

and left side is also leaking

removing the front fender bolts

brake pad pin lock plate out 

and loosening the front axle nut

pinch botls loose 

there are many ways to remove the brake caliper , but always difficult to have enough clearance.. with the torx disk bolts.. easy to loosen these

been leaking for some time.. caliper needs to be cleaned to

and use a allen key to loosen the top one, not to dammage the flyscreen — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

and loosen the flyscreen / headlight bracket to get the leg out — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

still protection is better , use some isolation tape so the socket fit snug — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

need to check with out the spring.. but this is to much oil inside.. no wonder the seals popped and the front felt rock solid — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

to mount the new seals.. protect theme from the sharp edges with some isolation tape — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

filled with oil to 110 mm air chamber .. — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

do not overtighten these.. been repairing the treads on these calipers many times — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
