3-9-2014 XB Cylinders, suspention, Service.

5-9-2014 - Buell XB12 Cylinders, there was a hudge compression difference between the front and rear cylinder. Buell XB12X, suspension upgrade and leaking front seal. Buell Xb12STT , service and damage repair.

XB12 Cylinders, there was a hudge compression difference between the front and rear cylinder, Oversized pistons and rebore / hone the cylinder was the way to fix this.

 

XB12 Cylinders, new pistons , clean every thing very good ( soap and hot water )

 

Xb12 Cylinders, most easy we found is to mount the pistons like this, pistons first in the barrels.

 

Xb12 Cylinders, circlip one side in the piston.

 

XB12 Cylinders, double check the play on the wrist pin.

 

XB12 Cylinders, and lower the piston and cylinder over the rod end, pushing the piston pin in place, cover the case holes with some paper when your pressing in the other circlip... have seen to many time they spring out falling in the case.

 

Xb12 Cylinders, top view , with hold down nuts , you can use the head bolts for this with some sockets as spacer.

 

XB12 Cylinders, rear head on, next with the front.

 

XB12 Cylinders, put the pushrod cover top O-rings first in the cylinder head, doing it the other way can score the o-rings and they can start leaking , push rod covers mounted first in the O-ring than in the cylinder dowels.

 

XB12 Cylinders, heads and rocker covers mounted, building up the rest.

 

Xb12 Cylinders, almost everything back on, first turn the engine for oil pressure ( with out spark plugs and ingnition / fuel pump.

XB12X, suspension upgrade, as we now first need to remove the cover again , so battery out, battery tray and side rail.

XB12X, suspension upgrade, and a nice Hyper progressive one mounted , very lovely upgrade ( option can also be a -/- 25 mm lowering spring kit ) customer opted for the normal length in this case.

 

XB12X, suspension upgrade, front seals leaking, as the forks need to come out any way for the new springs little work more .

 

XB12X, suspension upgrade, heavy scratch.. i wil try to get it out again, and hope the new seal will hold.. other wise a new slider will be needed.

Buell Xb12STT , service and damage repair, bike did run over a big rock on the road, and damaged bought wheels and spoiler bracket.

 

Buell Xb12STT , service and damage repair,dent in the rear wheel, i'm not to keen on repairing these very light wheels have seen theme crack.

 

Buell Xb12STT , service and damage repair, so nice new wheel and upgrade to 2010 3 bearing  ( comes as a kit )

Buell Xb12STT , service and damage repair, the bike did run like crap, customer had not noted this ? intake seals where leaking hard.. and vacuum port cap i cracked.

Buell Xb12STT , service and damage repair,cheking primairy tension.. why do people thing this is a nyloc nut ? the nylon seal is mend to seal the treads for sweating oil and needs to seal toe the cover.
