3-10-2014 - Buell XB12 Throttle shaft broken. Buell XB12 2010 service. Buell XB belt change. Buell Xb Cylinder overbore.

XB12 Throttle shaft broken, the shaft had broken at the TPS sensor end.

XB12SX 2010, bearings check... rear one was ok, the 2010 models have a upgraded rear wheel with 3 bearings, front wheel needed new bearings.

Xb12X, little diagnose, bike has 88000 km done, and some things are left a little neglected , the velocity stack was loose.

 

Xb12X, little diagnose, but main problem the TPS wire is broken, and needs setting... AFV value completely off and to low tps setting wil make the bike a non runner, i have discused the repair plan with the customer, first simple checks and clean the engine.

 

XB Belt change... almost with your eye closed  
loosen the rear axle pich bolt.

 

XB Belt change, loosen the axle 15 turns so the belt tension is off.

XB Belt change, belt on , some rotation of the wheel can be needed, new OEM Belts can be very tight , as they stretch during the first 1600 km.

XB Belt change, tighten the rear axle, i like to turn the rear wheel screwing the axle back in, to prevent some tension in the belt.

Xb12X after cylinders are bored to over size, to mach the new cylinders, before mouting clean the cylinders with hot water and soap, clean and lightly oil, if your cleaning rag stays clean, the cylinders are clean.. a light coat off oil on the cylinder wall will help the startup.
