5-12-2017 - What did we do today: 2-11-2017 Buell XB12S mishap repair, Buell XB12SS big inspection and repair
mishap repair.. , bike was hit from behind — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
and was dropped on the right side bending bar and brake lever ( lever is also not pivoting , so brake was hanging )
and a little knock on the swingarm, this was pushed in a little — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
the swingarm.. normaly no a issue . loosened the pich bolt and the swingarm popped back
bended licenplate + holder.. off to make it striaght
tough up spray paint on the swingarm.. for small repairs the Buell tough up paint is realy great. if more needed to be done , i would have let our painter do it
brake pedal has road rash to , remove the pivot bolt
knock the pivot bushing out and loosen the pin
pin back in
and a drop off loctite to hold on the pedal
left scoop has also damage
as douse the oil cooler scoop
back on..
a little roadrash on the pipes... to little to replace, as some filing and sanding will fix this
almost gone.. now some heat in the pipes to color these again
biek swapped around
i need to remove the tail section to replace the indicastor..
but tail section is easy... to 2 below... just a ferw turns loose
and remove the 4 bolts
and you can pull the tail section off —
new indicastor on , and mounting it back
new brake lever.. as this one is binding
when you have a suspision the lever is bend .. please check.. happens allot they are cracked !! — bij
as the brake lever was hanging.. the front disk was heated up way to much.. and the disk is warped.. you see the wear pattern giving things away
so off with the disk
and a very nice Galfer disk on
you see the wear pattern retunered in the pads
and wheel back on
the handle bar did get a little bend aswell.. mounted usualy hard to see
left grip is glued need to cut it off
right one of
and handle bar removed
knocking in the barend caps
the clutch lever has some road rash
took it to the sander and removed the scratches, new left grip on with glue
better like this
new licenseplate on.. use double sided tape, so the plate will not vibrate
hardly to see, but the right peg has a crack in it .
new peg on.. strong thumb and push the spring in
about time a test ride , little heating up
xb12SS in for service
and some leaks
while draining the oil.. i notice a leak ? not base gaskets
comes from above , but is it old or new ?
drain plugs have a look at the magnet.. it can tell allot .
gearbox oil back in and ball and ramp back on
and a litle closer look at the rocker cover gasket.. we replace these already 4 years ago.. and allot off km .. but looks like it is leaking again ? as this is fresh .. i will rotate the engine
but first wheel bearing check
perfect..
wheel back on and tq to 66 NM
checking the primairy chain... take measure ment on 3 points on the chain
strip down.. right scoop of
engine supported and removing the front mount
moving up to remove the airbox... nice and clean btw.. this bike is not hammered
tell tail signs off the 2007 model... tps sensor with 2 red dots
top side ready for engine rotation
indeed already the new black gaskets in
i will take the rocker box off to to check the gasket
mnn good used
no real signs off leaking but the gasket is toast
new gasket on and rocker box back on
and the cover on with new black seals
while the engine is down... easy sparkplug change
and ready to go up again
