2-2-2016 - What did we do today 29-1-2016, last things ULY service, big inspection beautifull SS
hee... head light is not really bright
winter time / dark riding.. clean theme ones in a while
lots off work to keep headers like this over 55000 km — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
as the bike was brought in with problems, i started it for leak test but did run on 1 cylinder, front one did not fire — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
little trick for all XB 2008-2010 ( incl 1125 ) there is a clean spark mode programmed in the ecm. pull the trottle full and switch on the ignition, the ecm tells the coil to fire bought spark plugs for 4 secondes to clean theme, after i did this a few times the front cylinder started to fire, so a better leak test could be done, as it turned out the intake seals where leaking , in a big service not much extra work, so we will replace these right away — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
first on with the service, oil drain engine oil and gearbox — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
front plug out, was not running perfect — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
and a little cold oil / or watter leak some where — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
rear pads are due for replacement, will not make it untill the next service — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
just something you pick up, saving time , as we want to replace the pads , and remove the rear wheel... first loosen the pad holding pins before you loosen the caliper bracket — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
and rear off course
i want to clean and grease the pivots, take a little extra time on a Uly, but worth it imo, heat the pivot extenders with a heat gun, to break the loctite bond or you end up ruwening the screw heads — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
with a little heat they come out with ease — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
as i tought, nasty dry pivot — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
we have small containers Silicone grease from Bardahl in our assortment, ideal for this and many other things.. like protection electrical connectors ,https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp?guid=YXHFSC&aid=11079&cid=10635&s&a&aname=Bardahl__Silicone_grease_100_gr — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
pivot lubed up , feels like new again — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
the clutch side also gets a clean and lube, the clutch lever will live longer when you do this every now and than... as you see here the pivot hole is already starting to become oval — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
time to warm er up a bit — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
oil level check... and test ride smile-emoticon little service to break in the new front pads a little and give the new tyres a little spin... i love my job wink-emoticon — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
big differance, almost same KM done as the Uly , but this one still looks like new... shows a little more love for the bike, XB12SS brought in for bad running and check up — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

clutch cable boot is bruned, could be the cause off the watter / mayo in the gear box oil — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

manifolf out, the seals are hard, no hard vacuum bites in the rubber, but clearly visible they have been leaking — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
after cleaning the surfaces , new seals on the manifold, i learned the best way to mount back the intake manifold is mount it back with the bolt for the open slot on the flanges, and locate these later — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
injector connector back on , green = rear , white is front — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
