10-7-2018 - 29-3-2018 Buell M2 cases preping for customer, Buell XB9R problem and check up
M2 case back from machine shop, bag off old bearings
big end replaced and made better ( old pin )
new pin pressed in pinion bearing new. and hone in line
the sprocket bearing was already mounted .. customer asked to glue the cases to getter .. cleaning and degreasing these with aceton
thin line of sealer on the half and gently lower the cases to getter.. turn the crank a little , no force should be needed
drop of red loctite on the case bolts
position the nice bolts head in sight
and the crapy ones inside :-)
to set the sealer gasket.. i tighen 2 off the gearbox bolts so this is the same tension as the rest off the case
set to 22 Nm i start in the middle working out
the customers mounts can be back on , front one
for transport tyrewrap ont he sprocket end to hold the seal spacer in place
case and rod end protected.. for debris and stuff falling in
and pinion end protected... still to be carefull , the crank can be obset very easy by dropping it or banging it on a crank end
whan feeling at the main drive bearing.. felt fishy , going to replace this bearing to. so spacer out and seal of
handy press / puller to do the work in the engine , pulling out the 5e gear
pulling out the bearing
has to much play. and rolls crunchy
new bearing id
pressing down to the stop
and pulling the 5e gear back in the bearing using the designated stamp
the squire o-ring is on next , and c-clip
seal tapped in , some squirts off oil insed and spacer in.. ready for the customer
Xb9 ( ish ) R runs strange.. first to detect.. than service ( xb12 engine was mounted some years ago )
ke has been down the road...
problem !? steam engine sounds when running .. customer thought intake seals , i head gasket... but the front plug was loose , and was leaking compression see the black markings on the plug — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
ok that is easy fix.. so on with the service, as this has been also 5 years and 15000 km ago — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

front plug.. the plug has been rattleing as a new plug feels loose in the threads.. will see how this will be with the new plug .. perhaps a thread repair and insert — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
wheel bearing and belt check — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
carefull with these belts.. this is still the old 03 model belt.. — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

wheel back in with new bearings.. some lube on these screws so they do not corrode — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
moving up... air filter and rear spark plug — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
what a mess .. could be bad running , but i think the piston ring are starting to wear ( to much blowby / case pressure ) — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

new plug in the front.. i can tighten it firmly.. so will go with out thread repair .. tighten these plug good..if you make these to loose the vibrate loose — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

air filter cleaned and box back on — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
battery poles loose ... — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

grip glue has gone off.. will glue this again.. will be very slippy in the rain — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

new bearings on and tighten to 55 NM — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
caliper bolt do not go though the mount hole.. the aluminium is crussed — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
easy solution take 9,5 mm dril and dril the holes clean — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
you see here only the front side needed the space , but now i can push the bolts in again by hand , and not obsetting the tq referance — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
some new screw will go in there — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
will clean and rinse with fresh brake fluid — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
And the srews back in.
