xb12s 08 long way from home.. to make here run better
as usual German Buell owners, tread there bikes very well :-)
mnnn old or new... oil leaking rear rocker gasket
the dirty fan should gove some away , if you know what to look for
good anyways.. running like crap... the ego gives some away way to low to run right
so leak test at first
ego is dropping to 50 ... and slowly climbing.. i will start with the intake seals
airbox of
something that made me wonder if the rocker gasket was already replaced, but not cleaned... the head sensor wire is out the wire guide
coil of to remove the throttle wires —
nice suspention
connectors loose left side w-brace
clutch cable out the lever
and dropping the engine
new style manofold... hex bolts bought sides
little markings.. no clearly visible leaks
a little on the head
with the engine down.. easy to check the gaskets.. mnnn ok old leak.. never fixed.. old style orange seals.. these will all leak over time
the upgrade seals are black and stiffer.
when you do this , clean the covers.. so the next mechanis douse not have to guess if they have been replaced —
intake back on
and sensor cable back in the wire guide
little neverseas on the bolt and rotate the engine up again
clean the crank sensor connector.. other wise the plug will not lock ;-)
connecting the throttle cables
coil can go on again
coil connector and wire holder clip
airbox back on
the ecm was also old firmware.
we can update these for you..
latest firm ware.. engine will not run as hot anymore
and updating the fuel mapping.. we have beutifull mappings for remus/ sebring exhaust
warming up, and test ride ... she is running very nice , the customer will love it
1125r exhaust problem
yep this is done for.
so stock exhaust mounting bolts out —
left front needs a spanner 13 mm to hold the nut
and remove the front bracket
right rear bolt , and loosen the foot peg bolts to drop the stock exhaust
TH header on
and eaxhust on
clamping tight
name plate on
and DB insert out.. i think this customer wants it in later... but let him experiance with out
and updating the fuel mapping from stock exhaust to TH exhaust .. test ride :-)
03 xb9S in for service
respecteble for a 2003 , very respecteble
draining the oil plugs.. very little hint off debris on the oil.. a little common on the 03-05 models when they get older
striping body work, and changing the front sparkplug
the bike had a problem starting.. sometimes.. when the starter button douse not work. usualy the start inhibiter.. and most lickely the neutral switch is the problem.. this one is at 10 K Ohm.. will make the light turn on, but to much to free the starter relais —
q03 easy acces to the neutral swich because the small pully
new switch in
1 ohm... that is better
noticed looking inside the chain tensioner is still the black one on this bike... the black ones needed to be inspected every 16000 km.. the later blue ones are much better
so with the oil out. small job to check the tensioner
cover off an a better view on the old shoe
this one is worn.. i will replace it for a blue one —
blue one in
and new "lock" nut on.
the nylon part is there to seal the thread.. so it will not leak oil... therefor needs to be mounted with the nylon facing the cover
new gasket and tq from the center working out
new oil in
and put loctite on these screws.. people loose these allot
old oil filter off
and new one on, primed
checking the primairy chain tension
and setting the sparkplug gap
chin spoiler can go back on.. use some loctite on the screws
aribox cleaning.. little bit of a dirt sucker this one —
and reroute and reisolate the head temp sensor wires and it has been rubbing
clean and relubed the filter
time for the front end
i wil put some new bolts on here.. they have been slipping
wheel bearings are ok
new caliper bolt and a drop of loctite
changing the brake fluid
and rear
test riding.. noticed the front disk is warped... contacted customer.. we leave this for the next time
