30-7-2015 - What did we do today 29-7-2015 XB12 SS Tires, steering head bearings, iac , X1 in a box
very nice XB12SS , in for some repairs
XB12SS, first rear tire change, remove the brake caliper
XB12SS, i like to take off the inner belt guard, just for protection off the wheel paint
XB12SS, axle loose and lift a little higher, to get the belt off with ease , new bearings and fresh tire on , some way in as out
XB12SS, tighten the axle , and belt guards back on
XB12SS, front end is next , turned the bike around on the motor lift ,
XB12SS, and start striping the front end , head light out
XB12SS, disconecting the rest off the electrics
XB12SS, cutting the zipty for the cable harness to take these off
XB12SS, and security bolt for the contact lock removed and the headlight side plates can be removed , after you loosen the brake line holder
XB12SS, loosening the clutch adjuster , to unhook the clutch cable
XB12SS, wheel fender, and 1 fork out
XB12SS, i like to leave 1 fork in, as the travel limiters are on the lower tripple t, with out the front leg, the top plate can spin losening the center nut. damaging the airbox cover
XB12SS, center nut loose, and triple t removed with some jentle taps
XB12SS, upper bearing pulled out
XB12SS, new bearing, checked and relubed , in with stamps we made out selfs not to overload the bearing , by pulling it in
XB12SS, triple t stem, greased up for corrosion protection, top palte on, and 1 leg in , tighen only the top triple t clamp bolts on the fron fork, so when adjusting the bearings, not tension can happen in the front legs
XB12SS, dash back on , security bolt son the contact lock
XB12SS, electrics back in
XB12SS, function check of everything works , before closing up all
XB12SS, brake pads change... the pin screws come better undone when you tempoary mount the bracket
XB12SS, new pads on
XB12SS, fresh fron tire and wheel back in
XB12SS, checking the IAC, as the error is now for the 3e time after clearing, checking the soliniod , airbox removal
XB12SS, disconnect the plug and unscrew the 2 bolts
XB12SS, very easy job, plug the connector back in the new IAC and contact on to cycle the solidion to reset ... airbox back on and test ride smile-emoticon
X1 in a box, finaly frown-emoticon unboxing the X1 , engine was overhault in the machine shop , mounting the engine to the swing arm mount
X1 in a box, finaly frown-emoticon unboxing the X1 , engine was overhault in the machine shop , mounting the engine to the swing arm mount
X1 in a box, and hoist the bike frame over it , nice to see the Buell suspention priciple in action , rear wheel engine are one, front fork and frame are one
X1 in a box, and back on it's own wheels
