21-5-2014 Buell Xb12, X1 99, 1125.

22-5-2014 - Buell Xb12 hard, noisy engine. Buell Xb12X, drop in with broken bearings. Buell X1 1999, Big check up. Buell X1 belt broke. Buell 1125, a other bearing customer drop in.

Buell Xb12 hard, noisy engine, we stripped the bike as we suspected the valve train was something wrong, the tappeds looked ok, but we could move the valve stems with the springs still on, better have a closer look.

 

Buell Xb12 hard, noisy engine, after removing the valve springs.. yep way to much play on the guides, as the front head made the most noise, heads are off to the machine shop to perfectly set and make some, new guides.

Buell X1 1999, Big check up, removed the spark plugs.. where 6r12 plug in... these are for sportsters.. not for Buell engines... 10r12 ( or we prefer NGK DCPR 9 or 8 for tube frame models )

 

Buell X1 1999, Big check up , gear box in 5e gear, rear wheel off the ground, little mirror and flashlight and your can easy inspect the oil pump gear, still the original in this X1, but still in very good condition, ok for now.. but check every 16000 km.

Buell X1 1999, Big check up, brake fluid reservoir front very dirty, one screw was in very tight.. perhaps it was left like this because off this, change the fluid.

Buell X1 1999, Big check up, piston and seals back in, check for compensation hole is free ( you should see the piston. bleeded the brakes, so much easyer, and so much better feeling in the pedal.

 

Buell X1 1999, Big check up, hmmm.. loose wires.. at that place usualy means broken ground connector.

 

Buell X1 1999, Big check up, yup... tab was broken off the eyelet, tried to repair it with the blue connectors off dead ( scotch locks ) these make very bad connections, and you damage the wires, made a new connector on, good to ground.

Buell 1125, a other bearing customer drop in, this bearing has been spin in the wheel.. dham... cleaned it good and glued it in place with loctite bushing glue .. and told the customer to keep a close eye for this.. when it moving again, we need to replace the wheel.
