1-4-2017 Leaking XB header, small check up

my exhaust makes a lot off noise.. the flange holder clip has rotted out and flange douse not hold the header in place anymore .. this bike was a allday bike, also during winter
fingers crossed... needed to hammer a 7/16 socket on.. penitrating oil , little tighter, loosen, thighen loosen... and 1 come out ... still one to go
other one even more corroded... socket 10 mm hammered on.. same dril tighten first.. penitrating oil , and slowly out ... i'm lucky to day , saves allot off work
gasket looks ok..
first new stud in.. with counter nuts
the inner stuf i cannot use a counter nut to screw it in.. as there is no room for a spanner to loosen the nut.. some loctite and just one nut will work
stud in, take a cup off coffee for the loctite to set.. and you can turn off the nut with out the stud comming with it
clip put in position on the tick end off the pipe and flange on
tighten.. so for so good..
testing if it is air tight.. contact.. yep gasket was still good.. was a job estimated between 30 minutes and 3 hours ... if the studs had broken..:-)

mnn could this be 3 in a row ? looks like the rocker cover seals are also leaking ( 3e bike in a row )
anyway.. heat here up first to drain the engine oil
seat and airbox off... looks dry and clean
aaahhh.. hangin throttle... alergic for it .. bar end mirrors to far inside
and a funny way of routing the rear brake line.. i will put it back as it should be
the oil pomp cover gasket is sweating.. i bet the bolt are not tight enough ( seen it happen more )
rear fender back on.. with brake line below
rear wheel inspection
bearings are good
primairy chain tension check .. ok
as is suspected.. tq the cover down to 14 Nm some bolts half a turn before it was tight ..
a cut off allen key is very handy.. for the hard to reach places as the header obstrucst direct acces off 2 off the cover bolts
new filter on
leaking fork seal.. will repace it right away
pushing the bike.. i feel something is off.. tyre pressure very low
front bearings check ... ok
now first the seal
fork apart ans cleaning
use some isolating tape to cover the sharp edges on the front leg before you put the seal back in
fork to getter and bleeding the rebound tube , and set oil leve
leg back in
same color, different bike.. a very nice one.. i think this is the first time this bike has seen a little rain .. very nice find
tyre channge.. rear caliper off
as we also going to replace the exhaust .. idler bracket off
and stock exhaust off
are you ever going to use this again.. no.. ok.. i remove it all
the electrical connection is next to the batter, if you remove the plug you can pull the wires out .. you will need to tell the ecm this is removed so you don't get error codes
weight is power.. so allready gained some :-)
Db inserts in our out .. let;s go out first
exhaust mounted and ecm programmed with the custom fuel map for this exhaust
and front tyre change
yep , this was the first time the front wheel came out , since it was put in at the factory.. i will put a little grease on it
name tags on the exhaust .. looking good.. and better .. more bottom power.. and for a SCG low profile so you have a little ground cleanance
nice bike.. very good find :-) she has found a good home
