my fist Buell love, bought the bike from the catalog picture.. needed to wait half a year on here, from there she has been my trusty compagnion for more that 50000 km accros Europe, rebuild the engine to make here a bigbore. and has seen a fair bit off modifications..last one was to racing, but exept for the ocasional track day.. she was getting old in the corner... as i picked my Uly for road trips
little down the history off this bike, Italian thunderbike series tail section was mounted
wanted to make a a little more road legal
;-) so rear light mounts where added
but i love the Uly straight up posisiton, and wanted the XBR to become the same... dirt tracker style... so custom front end in and long swing arm and new style oil lines , but with a long swing arm in a short frame you need a different length rear shock,,, trying out as i want to keep ground clearance, but do not want the tail to high up
this looks best in my opinion for the seat
been there done that, .... frame off the engine, to replace the Firebolt wire harness to a Lightning wire harness, not a problem
making lots off little things... very time consuming. pulley cover,
making it nice... wire locking the pully ARP bolts , there is no need for it , but i like the looks
shaved the left side off the swingarm, will give a clean look with a hidden rear caliper , and our own rear disk mounted
custom stuf bracket for the speedo is 25,4 mm but i want to mount a fatbar, so the hole was handfiled bigger, as i wanted to leave the pivot part strong needed file oval in the round hole, milling was not a option
first look with the motogadget old style tach ( and allot off other fuctions )

needed to drop the tail a other few cm's , shortened the rear subframe and cut the one piece body work apart , so i could fiberglas it back to getter in the body line i wanted

mono bodie at the painters... evel knievel... stars and stripes what else on a US bike based dirt tracker
first shake down ride..
need to get use to the short stroke bigbore engine, and the lightweight bike... she packs a punch :-)
nice lines
some little things to take care off, but happy with the result so far
