idler bearings can not be turned by hand anymore— bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

as these bearings are replaceble.. remove the spiral clip using 2 flat screw drivers — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

and press the 2 bearings out ( if you have a 2002 XB9 can be you still have a 1 bearing idler ) but they changed quickly to the 2 bearings — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

for giggles took the grease / dust cover off , not much grease left and hard and chuncky — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

new bearings pressed in mount the spiral clip back in... best done by hand — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

and put the spacers back on , the thick one , with the spiral clip side — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

idler pully back in the bracket.. turns smootly now— bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

fresh rear bearings in... — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

and wheel axle back to TQ specs — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

i give it a little more tension on the spring preload, as the customer had the feeling during hard acceleration the belt was slipping — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

the art off pressing Xb wheel bearings.. little grease in the wheel, to prevent the pressing in to hurt the metal to much.. as you have only so much bearing changes before the hole is to big and the bearing will not clamp anymore.. so you need to make every change count... and do it as good as you can — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

pressing in brake disk side first... as this is the side the wheel alines in the bike .. use flat stamps who support the inner and outer race — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

disk side done, leave the stamp in and support this— bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

checking the spacer.. you see how much this has been pressed in — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

this is not a really big issue , as long as the spacers is longer than the seat in the wheel — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

and press the other bearing in, also using stamps...— bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

press theme in until they tough.. check if the spacer is fixated ... pressing the bearings like this will prevent theme from having to much pre load on the bearings — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

the mushroomed axle will not even go in the front fork.. mounting like this will give issues in the fork alinement.. as the fork can not slide over the axle. and so not move freely — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

the righ way in, it would only go in by hand so far... yes i can force it in. but better to fix it right — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

brake caliper bolts in 50 nm — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

other thing to look for.. you see the end off the axle is inside the fork leg.. if you now tighten these crash protectors to hard, you will move the fork leg in , as these crash protectors did not take account for this — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

as these sit flush to the fork leg — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

so setting the font leg push it down a few times — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

tighen the pinch bolts — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

and lightly tighten the crash protector — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.
