test riding this buell was like a rocking horse... front disk is warped , needed to brake 20 meter earlier going in to a corner , than normal — Brake disc can be found here: https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp?mc=1&aid=3356&cid=10056&s=&a=&aname=Buell_XB_1125_FRONT_brake_disc_with_TUV we advice to change the pads with installing a new disc..

i will test this for a short test ride, so the disk is braking before the customer comes to pick up the bike Brake disc can be found here: https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp?mc=1&aid=3356&cid=10056&s=&a=&aname=Buell_XB_1125_FRONT_brake_disc_with_TUV we advice to change the pads with installing a new disc..

import XB12S . very nice bike, need to prep it for the oficial proofing

the customer brought his bike somewhere else before.. did not have a good feeling about it.. ecm was needed. but put in loose

battery was put in loose

tps was not really good set..

neutral light not working

and kill switch not working

and the bike would not run at all ... at least 1 plug is faul.. so airbox of , the stack is not mounted snug to the trottle bodie

base plate of to check the rear plug

ok that one is faulled , i put a new one in

checking the front plug

wires are almost new

front plug is also fauled

new plugs in.. tps reset very easy to feel and see the butterfly is closed

after zero back to 5,3 deg, and she is running now

kill switch not working.. sometimes i wonder why things like this are done ? the kill switch is looped

the original wires / switch is working

so wires back to original and contact

neutral light

way to much resistance , needs a new switch

taking the belt tension of to get the belt of the front pully

wheel bearings are good

belt of the pulley.. and with thin 5/8 socket you can unscrew the neutral switch

check ... works

jamming the electics back behind the cover

gearbox breather hose pulled back a little so there is more clearance to the header

battery tray is loose

and battery is loose... as these bike vibrate some form of fixation would be good

first ecm mounting with bolts

battery strap on.. made a special tool for this

and longer passenger peg bolts in with nuts to fasten the battery tray

she is a runner ... very nice bike

XB12 2009 no starting..

remove the left scoop to get to the wires

there are 2 connectors behind the scoop

the one with + and - on it , is from the regulator to the bike

starting.. Ohm

to see i the stator is grounded , what would indicate a short circuit , there is no ground connection .. good

next.. diode check to the regulator

get your + from the regulator

and take 1 off the terminals into the regualtor

measuring one way, the diode will open and let trough the testing voltage of your meter —

and the other way aroud it should indicate no connection .. hard to do a 3 hand job
;-)

ok so the regualtor is also ok .. running test for the out put off the stator ? !

first lets check the battery .. ha.. ok.. battery is bad

Xb12 in from Belgium bad running to repair

re diagnosed the intake seals where leaking, tps was set really not good ect.. so first we drop the engine and do the seals

airfiler of.. and a other hacksaw cut velocity stack.. so disapointing ... this will loose a few hp

rubbing clamps on wire harnesses... not good

so engine droping

axle loose to remove the belt tensioner

just details.. the off side of the idler wheel is front —

steering damper loose

notice a steering damper like thi . will hurt your front fender !!

termignoni removall

one off the resons we started to make our own exhaust.. .continuesly having to deal with the premature failure from other exhaust brands

engine supported and dropping the front bolt

a cut allen key is king for this job

plug cable are still ok even with the breather hose running next to it

a little cleaning will do

as here also traces of the leaking gasket

but first the manifold out

with the engine down a better view on the rear head

cover of to expose the old orange seals

the improved black seals are much beter

and some cleaning..

manifold back in

and engine up.. tq the front bolt to 66 NM

covers on

grrr.... what a crap mounting system

setting the tps correct

and resetting the afv

running warm.. and test ride

Uly from Germany.. riding like a stuborn mule

so lets see

troube code indicate tps sensor ( 11 ) and exhaust valve ( 21 )

this wil not work well in the long run , i will reroute this

i want to check the tps wires.. but need to get more cable out ,

right side scoop of

?? mnnn ... ok so the right side scoop was only for looks... it did not give any cooling... the customer will be in for a surprice
;-)

unpluged the injector wires

and taking apart the tps plug to check the wires / terminal connection

wire and terminal look good , so re isolating

and tps sensor off —

check the old and new.. as there are 2 versions

pres the sensor on and rotate to the mounting position

and tighten the screws

setting the tps correclty

and routing the wires good

right scoop on.. and test ride.. customer will be happy bike runs like a dream
