7-7-2017 - What did we do today: 1-6-2017 inspection Buell XB12SS , big check up Buell XB9Sx , Buell Big Bore cases
very nice XB12SS in for check up

drian when hot

side stand is almost solid.. will lube this one

nice ... but how about a quick level check

anyway oil filter old one off

checking the belt on wear, cracks and stone chips

wheel bearings are ok

stange dip in the outer layer off the belt.. has been running over something

axle back in, and pich bolt on

oil back in

and checking the primary chain tension

checking the spring loaded belt tensioner , if this is not seased

bike swapped around for the front check

pinch bolts loose

mnnn thin.. will contact the customer and advice to replace these

front wheel bearings are ok

mounting help to remove the pad pins

new pads in , and lining up the caliper with the spokes

wheel and brake mounted... i make it a habbit to pump the brake to pressure,

as it takes more than a few pumps off the lever to get the pads to the disk.. pushing the bike off the lift needing to brake for something.. you really will not hold the bike !!

pressing down the front suspention a few time so set the legs on the axle

and tighten the pich bolts

indicators are not working

removed the flyscreen , a hella relais was already mounted

and we have a feed... first gues relais is broken

mounting a new LED relais.. you need to change the pins again ( also done for the hella relais )
not to worrie clearely marked on the relais

presto.. working agian

so new brake fluid front

and rear

even the rear brake cap is painted.. omg

heating up and oil level check

and test ride

next... big check up XB9SX 06

again draining wheile hot

oil leak oil cooler.. need further inspection

geasrbox... clutch cable leaking ? adjuster booth ? or just not getting hot

nice HD People putting HD plugs in a Buell ... i't a sportster right ? you can use sportster plug.. for a modern one yes... not for a old one.. please do not use 6R12 plugs in a Buell

ok little cleaning is needed

fitting where tight, but as these are aluminium i check the condition off the threads first before i strip theme off

everything looked ok... little grease on the threads and tighten theme

leaking clutch cable

now it the best time to clean and lube the adjuster

and mounting on the heat shrink tube with glue to seal the outer cable

and cable routed back on

oil filter on

cleaned lubed and ready

rear wheel check .. caliper off

primairy chain is to loose .. adjust

axle out to check the wheel bearings

belt is ok.. wheel bearings to

dler pully is good

wheel axle back to specs

wheel axle back to specs

and pich bolt tight

lifting the bike .. i hear a clunck ...from the rear ... and i see the shock move .. lets have a look

o yeahhh inner spacer is gone

spacer and a little grease , will work good again with out cluncking noise

when you have a 1125 battery and want to ride... this is one way
;-)

the stock air filter was still in... i will spoil this bike with a K&N ... more induction noise
:-)

wondered why sputter in the rain.. cables where rubbing

new cables prepped to go

new filter and airbox back on

bike turned around for the front end check

wheel bearings are ok.. disk is warped , no jutter yet.. but it is missing 1/4 off the braking surface looking at the stripe marks on the disk

steering head bearings are ok

front fork oil , protecting the fragile top cap nut

mnnn only 0.5 turn.. to close some one did not put the fork back to getter good... as the adjustment is now only half it should be

setting max rebound points to getter , flat on the bushing.

take care you do not pinch the wires to the handle bar

wheel and brakecaliper back on

fresh brake fluid front

and rear

and test ride
:-) always surprices me how a stock XB9SX runs nice...

brapp brapp bigbore .. nice crank ... new big end pin, bearings... welded for longer lasting fun

oil jets where removed for the case bore

cleaning and new gaskets

little drop off loctite on the screws

read valve back on.. only one way possible

and drilling the case to make a new center rod.. as a bolt would not work anymore

little chamfer.. now to make bushings
