cylinders and pistons are back... time to clear out some parts boxes....

almost sinterklaas
:-) i like presents... beying marked means to me some one matched the pistons to the bores al ready for me
:-)

yep... set to match

as always... but theme in the sink with some dishwatter soap..and hot watter to clean the bores... there only clean when you can whipe a clean rag trough theme and the rag stays clean

yeah i know... there matched.. .but still i'm the guy building it... mistakes are to costly in this stage.. so checking the end gap on the rings

perfect spot on in the middle off the range

check the orientation on the pistons

whipe some running in oil in the bores

and with a ring compressor clamp the rings

and push the piston down the cylinder... just the rings in will do as you need the push in the piston pin

new base gaskets

and take the cylinder and push the piston pin through the rod end

piston pin clip in, and push the cylinder down

secure the barrel... you can use the short head bolts for this with the ring or 1/2" socket

next down the barrel

before we mount the heads, the pushrod covers must be mounted
put the pushrod o -rings in the cylinder head

wet the tips off the cover

and push down the head over the pushrod cover... than located it on the dowls

oil on the head bolt flats and a little on the threads

and TQ the heads down

on older bikes really common the markings are gone on the pushrods

als long as you remember the long ones are for the exhaust... you can check the manual for the specific lenght

rocker box back on , all the screws in be fore you tighten theme as there is no tight alinement

and tq the rocker box down

top cover on and breather pipe in, before we for get this

rear one = more the same , but take care off the head temp sensor wire

in the right positon you can almost get to all the bolt in the head

before you close the rocker box... a squirt oil on the valves will help the startup

cover on and breather in

time for the coil and top mount

aline the coil bracket to it sits in the middle

now also the time to mount the startup plugs

will use some fresh plug cables, these are done for
with the engine down... very easy , turn theme in a little so they don't rub the the cable guide

header back on

injector plug on

and engine up... TQ this one to 66 Nm

i want to run this bike in with break in oil.. so i drain the case , as i have easy acces to it now

while draining, mount the rest W-brace

hook up the electics

normal oil in the case is about 0.5 liter

exhaust mounting.. easy to have a lift to take some weight off

tighten the rear straps

front mounting

tap the slide on connection , to release any tension , and tighten the clamp

running wires

take a ziptie and loop this around the oil pressure sensor, to pull in the regulator wires

top side connect

now waiting on delivery off break in oil before first start up

S1 custom project... the custom milled pully was a little to shiny.... painted the center black ...

looks better
:-)

front end.. handle bar / risers

we are going to mount a motogadget clamp so we need to have the HD clamp mesurements... and we are going to mount a fat bar... to loose the spacers being used now

nice triple t nut... will clean off the scratches... and make a tool for it
;-)

fabricobbled brake lines... i cut it .. going to replace theme anyway for some custom made ones

trying out the head light brackets

with stock headlight

we want the handle bar lower... and the risers lower... so taking these off

and mill these off about 15 mm

bought milles down and bolt made shorter

better

on the bike

low postion .... mnnn my hart douse not start to glow...i think we are going to try with a different head ligth

preping the case for painting .. looksy at the business end off a knife egde lightened crank in a bigbore case

with some rod that mean business
:-)
